The Pitcher Inn

The Pitcher Inn wanted to retrofit their existing website from the 5 year old 'framed' and 'Flash' version to something that they could edit from their own web browsers, would be seen by the search engines better and would display on mobile devices that can't display Adobe Flash content (iPhones!)

We started out by researching where they stood, what they had; then we backed it all up and archived it. After removing the frame elements and creating a whole new CSS, templates and includes.

Once we had the demonstration pages working, we planned for search-engine-friendly 301 redirects of all the old framed page names and began mapping out the content management areas.

Inntopia packages integrated into the Pitcher Inn's website

Packages integrated from Inntopia

One of the big benefits of working with a development firm like VickeryHill is our willingness to work with other technologies.

Inntopia, the Pitcher Inn's new online booking component, gives developers the keys to the kingdom when it comes to accessing the data stored within their Supplier/CRS administration module. The titles, descriptions, inventory, and yes, package data (content already added by the user) has to be entered or syncrhonized once - why not let us bring that data back into the client's public website. This is especially important seeing as how Inntopia smartly blocks search engines from indexing their booking path content to avoid negative duplication.

We have setup Inntopia XML integration to 4 web sites now and Pitcher Inn will be the fifth. If you use Inntopia and need help with XML data integration or advanced Google Analytics implementations, get a hold of us now - maybe we can help.
