When it came time to create upgrade their set of IOS/retina-display vector icons, we took a look at the initial setup of Symbolicons website and saw that, while web visitors were being tracked by Google Analytics, there was no eCommerce data and the source data was being overwritten due to the Quixly.com digital delivery interface.
We researched possible Quixly replacements and tested various shopping carts and delivery download applications and settled on Shopify.com. After a few days of rigorous testing, and tech support calls, we worked out the details for a solid, cross-domain tracking setup, integrated with PayPal and fully tracking source data AND ecommerce dollars in Google Analytics (GA).
In August 2012, they launched their new Line icon set (bringing the total number of vector icons in the same family to 985!) and are selling them onlinelike hotcakes. With proper GA tracking, they can now expand to Google Adwords (pay per click), banner ads and more – knowing that the tracking and return-on-investment is being tracked with ease.
