Mark Bannon, a former State Regulator and Engineer, helped literally build Vickery Hill into what it is today. When we decided to turn Steve & Carrie’s barn into an office in 2005, we hired Bannon Engineering to inspect, consult, design and permit a new septic system to service the old house and the new commercial space.
Fast forward sixe years – the roles are reversed and the physical engineer hired the web engineers to help with him with ‘bare-bones’ website that served as a menu board with a list of available services and ways to contact him. When Mark wanted to update the site, he had to do it manually (using Notepad and FTP). He needed a better way to manage the content of his site and his email (several accounts with different providers).
After our initial discussions with Mark, we decided that the powerful tandem of WordPress and Rackspace were the perfect tools for the job. WordPress would allow him to easily edit / add content to the site, which we know is important in today’s information-rich age. Rackspace would give him a solid email platform and the ability to ‘sync’ email on multiple devices (desktop, iPhone, etc.). We setup some interesting advanced Google Analytics features to let him understand more of what the visitor is doing and where they are coming from.
The end result is an aesthetically pleasing website (with Mark’s photography as background images) that gives him the ability to add future project work and services with ease.
