Google

Steve (and everyNetwork co-worker, Jeremy Vignaux) bumped into Google back in 1999 after a San Francisco trip to visit Google and Bucky Ballsventure capitalists found this cool, simple little search engine that worked better than most.

Boy, have they come a long way. Everyone at VickeryHill uses some Google feature daily, if not hourly:

Sure, they seem like they are getting larger than big bad Microsoft, Apple or GE - but with helpful tools that are this easy to use, most of which are free, why not dance with the devil you know?

Google Analytics: get more than you pay for!

Just being on every client site (sometimes more than once) makes Google Analytics our most used Google tool. They didn't invent the application (it used to be called Urchin), but they enhanced it and re-engineered the interface - then gave it to the masses for free.

We implement it on every client site, ensure we have at least a single event and conversion tracking, and often use it to help clients determine whether money should be spent on marketing or development.
